Me and a dear friend of mine went to see the new ballet piece in Helsinki Opera, Édith Piaf. We got to see the life of Edith from a little child upwards to a fullgrown old lady. A life full of success and pain was portraited in this act. There were four people playing Édith, a child, a teenager, an adult, and an old lady. Everyone of these did a splendid job. The ballet piece was absolutely lovely and I really enjoyed this experience to the fullest. The opera in Helsinki is beautiful, and we even did a little shopping from the souvenir area. I am gonna show you what I bought at a later date.

We had spare time before the ballet in Helsinki, and went out for a cup of coffee

I’ve always loved to dance. I remember wanting to do ballet already as a five year old, but since I was an active child, doing lots of others competetive sports – my parents never put me in ballet class. When I was seventeen I made my own decision to try ballet, and I did. The class in particular was called floor barré, witch can be explained as ballet on the floor. It reminded me of pilates a little bit, but with the feeling of ballet.
I then got to try real ballet, and from there I loved it. I danced several years, and accually got the permission before covid to start pointe work, but due to lockdown the class was dismissed. Fast forward to now, I had my first pointe class in march! I got my shoes from the new dance store in Porvoo, personally fitted by a proffessional. For people who doesn’t know ballet, you accually have to be fitted for your pointe-shoes. You cannot just order a pair of shoes that’s a size 38 or else, even if that’s your normal shoe size. You have to look in for how hard or soft your shoe is, how you get over the ”box”, and for example how narrow your shoe is. There is a lot of different brands of pointe shoes, and I got a beautiful pair of capezio Ava shoes. You also need to sew the ribbons and elastics by yourself, and it took me forever, since I didn’t know what I was doing.
Pointe shoes overall are really pretty. But it’s accually a lot harder to dance on these than it seems. I hold onto the barré for my life the first time i stood in these, and it will take a LOT of work before I can do anything in the center.

So now it’s official! I’ve reached the age of 30, since my birthday was last week. Many of my friends have asked me, how it feels to have reached this pointe in life. I honestly don’t feel any different than I have during any of my other birthdays. I am still young at the age of 30, but I am definently not a child anymore, neither am I old. I am though, very excited to see where this year brings me. I have a lot I wanna do this year.
This year I celebrated my birthday, since it was a milestone to turn 30. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and therefore I celebrated my birthday with a Harry Potter theme. I had a very fancy Harry Potter cake ordered, and I decorated the serving table with several different objects regarding the Harry Potter world.
I recieved many very lovely gifts, and I am very grateful for the people who took time to congratulate me in any way this year. I feel truly blessed.

Christmas is around the corner. It’s practicly 1 month to christmas eve. For me, it’s the best time of the year. Christmas is followed by New Years, and then we all get a ”fresh start”. For me, that means getting life more meaningful. Every year I will try to make my life even better. Setting up goals, and achieving them during the following year. I’ve learned, that you’re not supposed to make the goals too difficult, because then you most certaintly won’t be reaching them. Therefore, start small. Babysteps. Babysteps will get you where you want to go. You can always proceed from there, but you cannot start with a task too difficult.
But let’s welcome christmas first! In my little home town, here is christmas already. Most christmas lights are hanging up, and the cafeterias serve mulled wine. Myself I’ve taken the christmas tree inside and I have bought a Lilly, witch i do every year at christmas season.
Merry christmas everyone, one month will endeed proceed fast.

Friends are SO important. Here comes a throwback to some pictures from last year..
Last year was filled with both happiness and agony, as always. Happiness you want to share with your friends, and in agony friends help you survive. Cherish your friendships, because friends really are, so important! Xoxo

I turned 29 this month! As a birthday present for myself, I spent two days in Helsinki. I had pre-ordered a stay in Vakuuna Hotel for one night, and it was my very first time in a hotel by myself. I had a really good time and I will for sure miss this king size bed. I had a bath tube in my hotel room by request, and a good view from my hotel window towards the center of Helsinki. My stay also included the breakfast buffet, witch happend to be the best thing about the whole stay! I did a little shopping and I also met my best friend who lives in Helsinki. I also ate birthday cake at the top floor of Stockmann , and I tried out the hotel restaurant witch was absolutely luxury. I actually haven’t travelled much by myself, so for me this was a milestone. I am aware my friends are on a different level regarding travelling, but you should not compare yourself to others achievements. Everyone is really on their own path.

This picure is from the hotel restaurant – I ordered grilled goat cheese and a bowl with potato wedges
2024 starts like any other year with a new haircut. This time a little late though, since we’re already in March. My signature look is nowadays the dark and red ombre, witch I went for also this time. I love this because, as it is ombre – it doesn’t require me to colour it as often as if it was colored to the roots. I always go to the same place, with the same hairdresser, because she knows exactly my preference and what I want. This way, I also avoid results that may not please me.

I am loving the dark red ombre! I think it’s my fifth time going for this look.

Welcome 2024! May this year be a good year, filled with opportunities and joy. Most people have new year resolutions, the most common being ”This year I am gonna hit the gym”, or ”this year I am gonna be super produtive” even, ”this year I am gonna be so happy”. The thing is though – life comes with setbacks, you cannot be happy all the time. Also, if you are new to the gym, it is maybe unrealistic to have the goal to hit the gym 5 times a week and be on a very strict diet. Therefore you may benefit for putting smaller goals, goals that really are achievable. Dieting and training like a maniac may hold for several days, or even weeks, but sooner or later you most probably are gonna fail. Putting smaller goals and being kind to yourself is more healthy in the long run.
